San Diego, California
In Marlin Magazine, one skipper from this seaside town remarked that on his trips they usually catch anywhere from 5-15 tuna over 300lbs! His trips take fishermen into Mexican waters for a week to nearly a month. His secret spots include the Luisitania Bank, about 600 miles from San Diego. North Carolina
The Atlantic Ocean is known to produce good sized yellowfin tuna. In North Carolina, the best times for tuna fishing are December through April. You’ll need to fish at around 120 feet depth. Venice, Lousiana
The Gulf of Mexico produces some huge yellowfin tuna, making it a great area for tuna fishing. Around this area in Louisiana, there are plenty of deepwater oil rigs where yellowfin like to hang out. Our nautical chart 04 gives a great view of the entire Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean.
Cape Cod, Massachusetts
The New England area is known for their deep sea fishing. Giant bluefin are found off the coast of this Massachusetts town.
